Hampton's Treasure Product review and prize!!

I recently had the wonderful opportunity to review a handmade product by HAMPTONS TREASURE, based out of Elysian Fields, Texas'. They specialize in unique, handmade goods out of duck tape. She started making hairbows back in 2010 for her daughter at first, discovering how fun and special they were she kept on and tried to start selling them! After seeing how FABULOUS her creations were she expanded to headbands, ribbon rings, scarfs and more. Than she thought her fancy duct tape idea would maybe spark some eyes- boy was she right! She started doing wonderful creations such as ducktape mens & womens wallets, jewelry/hair accessories, baskets and more! This truly is a product and company you must see!!! She is a very sweet woman and i am glad i had the chance to review this wonderful wallet that she made for my boyfriend. He LOVES it. Its so nice, very sturdy, enough room for everything we need (and will get in the future!) Also it feels so close to leather its unreal. I cannot believe how great and well put together this product was. We all keep bragging about it!! Its so great! Here are a few pictures to get an idea of what my wallet design looked like:









These are just a few pictures to show you how nice of a job she did!! Im so pleased and it was a great gift to my boyfriend, he needed a new wallet badly, but to top it off this was different, and totally a great catch! I did good! :)

Funbites giveaway! :)

As I am sure you all remember a couple weeks ago I got to review Cube It FunBites cutter!  I was also given the opportunity to do a giveaway so that one of my readers could win one as well!



That giveaway is over BUT I was asked to review their other FunBites cutter too, the Luv It cutter!  Keep reading for my review of the hearts cutter because my opinions of the cutters differ.



For those of you who are not familiar with my review for the Cube It cutter you can read it here.  



FunBites are easy to use just follow the very simple instructions:



Step 1: Place FunBites cutter on top of
food.  Remove popper top and set to the side.

Step 2: Grab cutter handles on both sides, press down firmly and
rock 5-6 times to cut through the food.

Step 3: Lift the cutter up, insert popper top and
pop out the bite-sized pieces!

To wash them just toss them in the dishwasher on the top shelf!!





The coolest thing about the Luv It cutter is that the shapes are fun to play with and create cute shapes with them, like the ice cream cones made from a cookie cake pictured below.

Isn't that just too fun?  I LUV IT!!  The geometric shapes are great for kids to be creative and also learn their shapes at the same time!!  Here are some shapes I made out of the pieces; a square, rectangle, triangle, circle, and of course the heart.

I have to say that the cutter does not cut as cleanly as the Cube It on some food and the extra creases on the cutter are a little more difficult to clean up but that was okay because I just sprayed it out with the sink sprayer then tossed it in the dishwasher.



My favorite part of the hearts cutter was the little hearts and think that this cutter would be so much fun for Valentines Day.



We got to use this cutter on more than just the cookie cake!  Below you can find a few more pictures of foods we used it on!



Berry Pancakes- a little messy because of the berries but the munchkins loved the shapes.

Lives are threatened as Shale investigates and sets out to clean up the crime infested school.

The lip gloss I received is called Luminous Lip Gloss Dulzura. The color is like a light pink. I'm not a huge fan of lip gloss, but when I applied this lip gloss, I really loved it. It's very smooth when you apply it, and not sticky. It made my lips shine, and didn't leave any color behind, which is what I love. I don't like when lip glosses have colors to them, because I'm not a big fan of lip colors, like lipstick. I've been using this product every day since I received it. I'm very happy that I love it, because normally I don't apply anything to my lips. This gives them that extra shine.

The anti aging eye cream is used to treat dark circles under the eyes. It came in a 0.5oz bottle. When I wake up each morning, I use this product. It's been about two weeks since I started using this, and I have seen some small changes. I'm usually extremely tired when I wake up in the morning. Ever since I have been using this product, it's made me feel refreshed and awakened in the morning. I don't know if this is how it's suppose to feel, but I love it! It really helps me to wake up in the morning. I've also noticed some small changes with the dark circles under my eyes. They are slightly disappearing, so I'm very happy with this product.

My Review:

 I have to be honest and admit I was a little scared to use the coconut oil because I do not like coconut in general.  Even through my skepticism I wanted to try it and see what all the hype was about.  I was extremely impressed.  The coconut flavor was not what I expected.  It was mild and not sweet like I thought it would be and a great substitute to the oils I usually use in recipes.



The first thing I made was a Chinese dish and I will say that I replaced the full amount of oil with the coconut oil and although the rest of my family LOVED it, I thought it was heavy on the coconut.  That did not discourage me though.



I next found a recipe online for granola bars made with coconut oil and it was an "Oh, My God!" moment for me.  I couldn't help to think that was in love with this oil.  This time the amount of oil used was perfect and the flavor was mild and tasty.  Since then I have made a number of different dishes with the coconut oil by replacing "typical" oils with the coconut oil (being careful not to overpower my coconut-sensitive palate).



Out of all the recipes I attempted with the Tropical Traditions Coconut oil my favorites were the granola bars and the Coconut Shrimp I made on a whim (I thought I had to at least attempt coconut shrimp with coconut oil).

Coconut
Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients for shrimp-

1 lbs. shrimp

Unsweetened shaved coconut

Flour

Panko bread crumbs

Salt

Pepper

Garlic powder

Onion powder

Chili powder

Cayenne pepper

2 eggs

Milk (about a cup)

Ingredients for Sauce:

Chili sauce

Sweet and sour sauce

Honey

Instructions:

1. Shell shrimp (keep tails if you wish.  I did not)
   and pat dry with paper towels. 
2. Sprinkle salt and pepper on shrimp and toss.  Set
   aside.
3. Prepare three plates are bowls with the following:

• The first will be flour with salt, pepper, garlic
  powder, onion powder, chili powder, and cayenne pepper.
• The second will be the eggs whisked together with about
  a cup of milk.
• The third will be Panko breadcrumbs mixed with the
  coconut (I did about half and half)

                   4.  Heat
about ½ inch of coconut oil in a pan over medium heat

           5.   
Dip
the shrimp in the flour and shake any excess flour off. 

           6.   
Then
dip into the egg/milk mixture.

           7.   
Coat
with the panko/coconut mixture

           8.   
Fry
until golden brown and opaque all the way through.  Watch carefully
because they  cook

                very quickly

           9.   
Lay
on paper towels to drain the excess oil when done.

          10.  Mix together chili sauce, sweet and sour sauce, and honey to
taste.  Be careful because the

                chili sauce is very spicy.  If it gets
too spicy add honey or sweet and sour.  

          11.  Enjoy.

I must apologize that I do not have exact measurements for everything in the recipe.  I tend to cook to taste and do not measure anything out most of the time.

 I got a pair of black slide OOFOS for my husband who does not like sandals. My husband works 12hr days and is on his feet all day. Well I am happy to say that he loves coming home and taking his shoes off to put the OOFOS slide on. He said that its like walking on clouds and he loves the grip on them. I love when I get an item to review that will be used and was needed. Now if our friends can get use to seeing my hubby in sandals lol

FunBites Giveaway!

The Munchkins and I were given the awesome opportunity to review FunBites Cube It cutter.  This is a product I had seen around and was curious to try so you can imagine my excitement when I was chosen to review it.



I was so excited when it arrived in the mail and I was able to try it.  Luckily, it came right before lunchtime so after a quick wash it was off to making & cutting sandwiches. 

Munchkin 2 had developed this nasty habit of dissecting her sandwiches & eating the filling but not the bread, or licking the jelly out of the middle.  FunBites has stopped that behavior!  She now eats her sandwich without taking it apart :D  

FunBites cutters so easy to use even the kids could do it on their own! The best part is they are great to use on much more than just sandwiches.  We were able to use it on brownies, fruit, cheese, chicken, and much more items.  Unfortunately I was unable to get pictures of it all because they had devoured it before I could get the camera. 

I think that the Luv It cutter would be just as easy and fun to use.  I plan on buying one in addition to the FunBites Cube It cutter.



FunBites are great to get picky eaters to eat a larger variety of foods.  A big advantage is it makes foods look fun so kids are more apt to eat them. 



FunBites are super easy to use; all you do is position it, press gently, and rock the cutter back and forth, then push the cut food out with the top.  So easy and quick!



The only thing I was not thrilled with is that it cut the crust off the bread but this is great for those whose kids don't like crust.  It was a simple fix though because I just cut the crust on its own or gave it to the Munchkins as is. 

I also used it to quickly cut different meats to top mac and cheese for lunch when everyone wants a different meat.

Do you have flaky, dry, or cracked feet? I'm sure most of us do. I often get dry,cracked feet. When your on your feet a lot, you tend to get dry, cracked feet. I've got two children, so i'm always up and on my feet running around after my children. I was given the opportunity to review toe juice and hog wash.

Toe Juice was invented by Royce Garner. He produced his first batch in 1970. It all began when his son had flaking, dry, cracked feet. He did some research in his lab, and came out with a new product, Toe Juice. It had fixed his son's problem, as well as friends and families. Toe Juice is fast drying, non greasy, all natural, plant based, and effective.

Hog Wash is an alcohol based hand sanitizer infused with Derma Vine. Derma Vine uses a blend of plant based extracts, and enhances the skins natural repairing ability. Hog Wash promotes soft healthy skin, instead of over drying your hands. Hog Wash was created after nurses were using Toe Juice, from a long days of hard work at the hospital. Nurses have to sanitize there hands multiple times throughout the day, at the hospital. The sanitizers were making there hands dry and sometimes bleed. This is when the Hog Wash was invented.

After receiving the package, I decided to try out the How Wash first. I love a good hand sanitizer. Most hand sanitizers I have tried either have no smell, or a horrible smell. I was surprised that after using the Hog Wash, it smelt like lemons. It made my hands very soft as well. Then I used the Toe Juice. I just poured some of it on the parts of my feet that were cracked. I was very surprised that I couldn't even feel it when I applied it. My husband and I have both tried out the Toe Juice for a few days. It has worked wonderful for the both of us. Both of our feet are not as dry and cracked as they normally are. My husband even said his feet hurt less since he has been using the Toe Juice. His job requires him to be on his feet all day, so this is wonderful news! I even tried it on my youngest daughter, who has eczema. It worked very well on her as well. I put it on one of her breakout spots. The spot had disappeared the next morning.

Instead of spending a lot of money at the spa/salon, why not try out Toe Juice and Hog Wash.

This is a fantastic scent. I am not a huge fan of cinnamon as that tends to be strong and overbearing. But i think the combination you did captured exactly what the name is "cinnamon tea" im certainly buying this candle again. Good Job DC!
